scops, with all due respect I have a 2000 248 BR, I think your issue is more due to not being properly cared for more then poor construction, the construction used is the same is nearly all high end manufacturers of the period. Mine has a plywood floor and is solid as a rock but my boat was cared for meticulously and will last for many more years if cared for properly.

Hi I have a 1998 238DB and the floor is in fine shape, love the fiberglass without carpet. Sure makes for easy clean up and it looks nice too...No problems here!

boatgrunt, I've had good experiences with both of my Crownlines. Make sure you check the stringers and flooring for soft spots as Crownline didn't started using XL rated plywood until 1998. Also the 210CCR is pretty heavy and not a speed demon, it would be beneficial if it had trim tabs.

How do you rcheck the stringers on this boa. Looking to buy a crownline tomoorrow

the most effective way to check the stringers is to have a marine survey done on the boat or to have an educated boater look at it for you, in a nut shell your looking for soft spots in the floor first, this is a very good sign that the boat has water penetration into the area beneath the deck, at that point you need to get creative to check the stringers. If your boat has a rock solid deck then you should be in pretty good shape

LippCJ is spot on, have the boat gone over by a marine surveyor. If I was checking the stringers on my own boat, I'd probe for soft spots in the floor and stringers. Also make sure the bolts for the front motor mounts are tight.
