Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Your Dream boat will come soon enough. Keep in mind you can boat even in the Winter in AZ. We do not have to deal with cool weather like those other poor sobs. :p;)

Sorry to hear man. Hopefully the seller was just trying to do the right thing in his mind. He felt obligated to the first "buyer". Personally I'd rather lose a boat because the seller was trying to do the right thing than him selling it to someone after you due to more money. I know it doesn't help the sting right now, but I'm sure your boat is right round the corner. Take your time. It sucks to wait, but I'm sure the right boat will come around for you.

I know I was still sour about losing the first boat I had a deposit on even after I purchased my current boat. However, I'm very happy now with mine and it fits what I wanted it for perfectly and probably better than the first boat.

do it through paypal instantly, that way its secure and done.

It's not a done deal til it's paid for and in your driveway. (also, paypal is ANYTHING but secure.)

Next time, get the money, and get there. You snooze, you may loose.

You're right..its not done until its in my possesion. I am currently about 2000 miles from him. I took him on his word, which apparantly means nothing in this day and age. There was no snoozing involved here..I did everything he said to do immediately.

I do think in his mind he's doing the right thing. The major screwup was him saying it was back on the market and actually going through with a sale before officially giving the other "buyer" back their deposit.

No doubt. As soon as the first buyer said he couldn't buy it I'd say it's first come first serve after that.

I see your location is PHX. I guess you will be driving it back.

Looks like it was taken care of. I still like the other one especially the DP but looks like you found a winner.

The other one was nice no doubt, but had to move on, there was nothing the seller was going to do for me.

Yea..going to be a LOOOONG trip home. I'm hoping the Yukon does ok..I have the tow package..5.3l with 3.73's. Can I stop at any truck scale to see how much the trailer and boat weighs? I have a rough idea, but I'd like to know exactly.

Awesome man! Congrats it looks like you found yourself a winner. Looks like more bang for the buck. I'm sure you'll be extremely happy with the quality of the Monterey! I know I am.

Best of luck on the trip home and with your boat.

Am I the only one that caught the comment about the seller selling to the guy who is sending him the money in DECEMBER over someone bringing cash in a few days? Did I misread this? Is he crazy? He is not only stupid - he is setting himself up to get screwed - I guess it is one in the same!

Oops - I missed the 2nd page of the thread - didnt see any of the new stuff when I posted before. It looks like you got a great boat after all. These things usually work out. The one you got is almost the perfect color for Alabama fans - like me ! Cant wait till football season.

I think so..this is a 2 owner boat, both took meticulous care of it..I have all the service records and reciepts. One goal I had in buying a boat was to find a higher end boat in great condition at a bargin. Obvioulsy they don't come around much... I paid well under BucValue for this boat and if I keep up with it as much as the previous owners did, I shouldn't loose very much money if any at all, if I were to sell it.

No, you read that right:confused::confused:...I was amazed at this guys decision. When everthing went down, I wrote him and said I could have my wife at his house within an hr with the entire amount for the boat.

He said no, he didn't want anybody coming to his house. Apparantly when the first buyers asked to be let back into the deal, they agreed that if they backed out again, they would forfit their entire $1,000 deposit.

Either thats the story, or he got cold feet and decided not to sell it..I don't know..Either way I'm really happy with what I found.
