Re: Opinions PLEASE!!

The "may need a new floor" comment would make me nervous.

Yes. Me too. I already tried to get the price to 2700 for that same reason.

The 2nd one sounds/reads and looks ok, pending a water trial, definitely worth a look.

The first one may pass muster in person regarding the "may need new floor in the near future" (but probably has problems).

Those 2 boats are pretty far apart regarding type of boating they are aimed at, just sayin'.

You might be looking at a potential money pit for an old saltwater I/O.

Re: Opinions PLEASE!!

Go back to looking at center consoles, but look at ones with outboards.

The Larson is a goofy boat, as far as I am concerned. One, it's a Larson CC; two, it's an I/O in a center console and, lastly, it has a soft floor? Wha? PASS.

Your price point means: Major brand, traditional center console, with Merc/Mariner, Johnson/Evinrude, Yamaha or Suzuki outboard.

Philster said it right. Sometimes the center consoles in our area are priced high, but I see alot of older dual console's with O/B in the area in your price range (but if you find find a good cc, great) . Basically you should be looking at some type of fishing boat with an outboard.

Yes, a true 'dual console' (DC) is a viable option. A DC is a bow-rider type boat based on an actual center console boat; it should have the same features that lend to longevity, such as a self-bailing deck and fairly rugged floor and utilitarian approach, which is not to be confused with old bow riders, which were stuffed with too much wood, too much glue, decks that don't self bail, foamed up upholstery and other 'stuff' that lends itself to destruction and rot unless it is a trailer queen.

Re: Opinions PLEASE!!

the first one: I wouldn'ty get an i?o and especially not an old one. The sides of the boat look odd for a CC and hard for fishing. I'd pass.

Second one is a totally different boat--not my style; I prefer CC and activities like fishing, exploring the shallows, water sports and need something seaworthy. If you want a cruise-around-and-look boat, the second one, if what he says is true, could be a rare gem for that type boat--around here we hear about rot and freeze damage from the fresh water colder lake boaters, something they have to watch out for, but maybe an issue avoided by this boat. He's asking a fair price to get rid of it, if he's being honest.
