Optimax 115 motor alarm

I have a new Mercury optimx115 on a new Trophy 1802 w/a.When I start the motor the alarm goes on continuously.Even when I turn the ignition switch and the battery switch off the alarm is still going the only way I can stop it,is to disconnect the battery,any ideas from you guys, its at the dealers at this time and they are baffled.

If you turn the key to the "on" position but do not start the engine, does the alarm still go off continuously?
