Optimax lower unit/drive shaft question

Is there any way to know if it has a one piece drive shaft or two piece without removing the lower unit? It's a 2001 225.

The 3.0 liter "single bearing" unit is the only one that used a 2 piece shaft and that was mainly the 1998-01 models and some later CR models, all others use a 1 piece shaft....

Excuse my ignorance but are you saying there is no way to know without taking the lower off then? It's 3.0 liter and 2001 as far as I know.

My plan is to remove my two 200 johnsons and put this one on as a single until I find another one to match. (it may be up to or over a year) They have 25" shafts and it's a deep v hull so I believe I have to set the merc up for a 30" shaft. My plan is to get a lower unit from SEI because this one has a bent prop shaft, but I need to know if it's one piece or two. I wanted to get all of the stuff here at once that's why I'm trying to find out.
