I’m planning on rebuilding my optimax , it broke a rod back in the fall , after taking it to a machine shop to replace one of the sleeves , the machinists told me one the other sleeves was scuffed to but he could bore it out to clean it , but he wasn’t sure if he could get it out at .30 , so he wants to go .40 over if he needs to , and bore all them the same size , with that being said is going .40 over safe to do or am I setting myself up for disaster

One caution for you.-----You have to determine why the failure occurred !!----Or you will / might have to rebuild again soon after you fire it up.------You must check the ECU and sensors.------Myself I would not rebuild one of those motors !!

Rods dont break.....pistons seize and then they break. Is this a 2.5L or 3L?
