Optimax serial # location

I have a 2003 Optimax 200 on my 2001 20' bass boat. The transom mount has the tag for the 2001 with serial # but I did see somewhere 2003 on the motor. The PO also told me the boat had been re-powered. Is there anywhere on the motor that has the serial #? Are there any differences between a 2001 and a 2003 Optimax?
