Ordered a new chainsaw !!!

Ordered my new Stihl MS 310 yesterday from a local dealer... it'll be here next week.

You'll love that saw. That is the exact same model I use. The only problem I have with it is with the 24" bar. It seems to be a bit underpowered for it. It Sthil gets the job done though. My best advice is get plenty of chains for it. Once my chain starts to slow down, I change it out. Makes for a better longer lasting sharpening job. The chain will lose its temper/hardness if they get overheated and it doesn't take too long to destroy one. I also got one of those motorized chain sharpeners. Makes for a quick time of doing all my chains when need be.

If you get real ansie you can practice up at my cottage I only have 12 more trees to take down for the new road.....and if you have a dozzer well there will be lots of beer......nice saw by the way as said keep it full of good bar lube don't be cheap buy the good stuff

I have a Stihl 240 ranch model. Best chain saw I ever had. It should last many years.

Sthil rates that mdl fou up to a 20" blade.............that could be why.

I bought a Stihl model 026 (since replaced with the MS260 Pro)18 years ago. It still starts with ease and cuts firewood with the best of them.

Still hasn't come. Called the shop 4 times and stopped by once.

$417 price tag (20" bar) and they don't seem to want the business?

Think I'll go elsewhere....

I tend to run my saw and most saws with a 16" bar..... 18 is the max. Good luck with a great saw.

Find a different Stihl dealer, ACE hardware is a very good dealer of Stihl equipment here in Carolina.

I am absolutely a big fan of Stihl, don't let a crappy dealer scare you off from the product. The product is second to none.

I have a Stihl..

1. Chainsaw
2. High Speed Tiller
3. Blower
4. Shrub Trimmer
5. Weed Eater

The reason I go for all Stihl products is that I want to buy it and use it without any hassles, I have had these for years and I am still (Stihl )sold on the brand. They run forever.

I tried a Poulan saw once and the pull string came completely off the saw the second time I used it...that was the end of my experimentation with a different brand.

I'm a Husqvarna man myself.
I had contemplated Stihl, but like so many other brands these days, I discovered they were resting on their laurels all the while using more plastic where they shouldn't. Sorry.

I've run 4 tanks of gas and I really like the saw.

Plenty of power.

I'm running good bar oil with the automatic oiler opened all of the way up.

I've cut little stuff 3" and big stuff 20" and it does great !

Stihl sells little bottle of synthetic oil for thier saws, I would go that route as it mixes a gallon of gas and unless you have a log truck load of logs, it will last quite a while. I still have my old 032 that si about 35 or more years old and ran good up until 2 years ago and lost compression, I guess, can get it to run anymore. I filled up the spark plug hole w/SeaFoam last spring, guss I need to see it that helped it, just haven't needed a saw lately.
I replaced it with a Husky 359 w/20" bar. I liked my Stihl better though.

I'm on my 5th tank of gas and the saw is running great !

Lots of power.

I've been reading up on muffler mods to try and get a little better efficiency from the saw.... we'll see
