I have just purchased a 20L drum of ortho lse resin. How does this stuff differ to the usual polyester resin? I had intended to get polyester but picked up the wrong drum. Is this the type of laminating resin that will never cure and stay tacky? their for is not suitable for final lay ups. as described here under finishing resins http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=286013

Re: Ortho Lse

You actually don't want the type of resin that cures tack free, it creates more work for you. The wax is an additive that you can buy at most places that sell fiberglass products, you only need to add it to the final layer.

Most people don't use it, but it's cheap and is nice for a quick tack free surface. Most resins will become tack free on their own after a few days, but the type you have may stay tacky a bit longer, this helps if you want to apply another layer.
