sooo is there any kind of consensus that this issue at WOT is NOT electrical or electrical component related? ie a stator going bad...a power pack thats finicky, a coil getting dropped?????.. the way it went smoothly to 5500 and then fell and i couldnt get it back.... both makes me think junk getting clogged in a high speed jet or an elecrical part losing conductivity....thats why i came here hoping to hear from guys who had this same experience....... and solved it

It could be a coil failing or stator or cdi box. www.cdielectronics.com has the troubleshooting guide for your motor. Your top rpm for that motor should be 6000 rpm. What happens if you pump the primer bulb when that is happening? Is the pulse line in good condition? Any loose clamps on the fuel lines.

i had my son squeeze the bulb while we were running and it was still hard...nothing happened to the performance... we didnt get a BOOST or anything ..... the boat is just put together last summer.... but i could recheck all the fuel line connections... havent specifically check the pulse line.... my first step will be to remove the bowls on my parts motors carbs make sure the high speed jets are in good condition.. gets a carb kit for each carb and go see my sone and remove and rebuild the carbs he has... I know at least one high speed orifice is stripped, thats why im bringing other bowls.....i should be able to remove and replace the carbs in a few hours and get him out on the water for another test run... ill make sure the timing arm is moving all the way, ill make sure the throttle plates are all opening the same... maybe we will run it late and Ill check for a stray short in the dusk.... after that...it getting towed the mechanic...... the boat is too far away to keep repeating this process!
