Ouch! I can't see thru the window frame?

Like an idiot I recently purchased a 2001 Trophy 175 and I didn't sit in the drivers seat until after the deal and I got it home. My eye level while seated
at the lowest setting is slightly above the windshield and when I put the top up with the snap down windows my view is totally blocked my the canvas trim above the windshield frame so I have the hunker down or almost stand in able to see..I'm 6'1 so certainly not abnormally tall. BTW, I haven't had the boat on the water yet so maybe the boat position will change my view but on the trailer it's got me concerned. Are alumicraft Trophy just built
with lower WShields? I do notice on my goldwing though I look over the windscreen rather then thru it.

Re: Ouch! I can't see thru the window frame?

I am 6'3" and have no issues with windsheild height on my Trophy 185. I have been in a Trophy 180 and it is about the same as mine. Maybe you have different seats than I do. My seat goes quite low, I could measure it for you if you would like. Then you may just have to purchase a new pedestal.

Do you have the same issue if you are in the passenger seat? My driver's pedestal is different from the rest. How does the steering wheel line up? Does it seem low? or about right.

I looked in a few pictures and it seems that my eye level is quite close to the top of the window. (see my avatar). I have not noticed it while operating the boat and I have the all weather top as well.

hopefully, your line of sight changes while operating the boat and you are worrying for nothing.

Again..thanks for the feedback. I'll measure it tomorrow at the lowest setting and post, the previous owner was shorter then I so he may have added a taller pedestal as suggested.

Re: Ouch! I can't see thru the window frame?

I've been looking seriously into buying a Trophy. The 175 is not as deep as the 185 on up. I think it's about 2 inches shallower than say the 185. I sat in the 175 and found the same problem....my eyes are above the top bar of the windshield. I'm only 6'1".....but that convinved me to look into the next size up.

Hopefully you can figure something out with the seat.

Take Care,

I'm wondering if the designers had in mind to look over not thru the windshield like you on a motorcycle and a few bass boats but actually.. on the water with the
bow oriented higher so it seems ok at the lowest seat setting.
