Re: Our new used boat

If the boat is in good shape it was a decent deal. How much did it cost to repower it? What's the HP of the new V6? Was the original a 3.0L v4? is it a used engine or new? I'm guessing you'll have great power now.

I doubt you'll find a non-wood hatch cover for that boat. You can fabricate one or just refinish the wood one to make it look nice! I'd go that route myself, I
d prefer the hatch have lots of ventilation, not be covered by carpet.

Describe how bad the oxidation is and i'm sure you'll get some ideas on what to use. however, there are a ton of threads on this subject already so if you search for "oxidation" you'll get lots of ideas.

Congrats on the new boat!

Re: Our new used boat

Thanks for the reply, the only difference was it was a 190hp 2 barrel carp, we put a brand new marine engine in for about 3k. it should be about 220-230hp i believe. The oxidation is not really that bad, we have buffed it many times and it now comes to a shine. Just wondering if there is any recommended product out there for boaters. Maybe thats the route we should go on the floor hatch. Just wondering if anyone else has put down riggers on this type of boat before like we are thinking about on the swim deck.

Congrats on the new boat.
I have some heavy oxidation and was told to
first, 3M marine rubbing compound
second, 3M Finesse-it II glaze
third, Good coat of wax, Meguiars Flagship.
All done with a buffer.
That's what I am going to try.:)

When it warms up and the snow melts I will try that as well, we have used Meguiars Flagship and seems to do a nice job. Will try other stuff well. Thanks for Reply
