Sailboat eh?

I REALLY want to build a boat, but it's going to be a while before I can do that. I need a shop to build it in, but I gotta put first things first and second things second etc...

If you have the means, I say go for it. I'll definitely be following along with your progress.

I never saw a sailboat that wasn't worth something like a new starter kit for a artificial reef.Got to keep the fish in new housing.

Wood boat's can be made to look almost breathtaking if the wood is not marred up to much, no fiberglass itch, just a lot of labor. Id bet she would be a real looker.

Then comes the next season..........8)

chris craft is family owned, my sister, her boy friend and me. so i don't tinker with it. just keep it running, and maintained. we've decided to take just the Chris Craft to the keys this year, as it will hold everyone, and the sail will go as a toy.

i was master finish carpenter by trade. general contractor. have to keep my hands and mind busy now retired.

I know how you feel. I have an itch for a full bore project, preferably an aluminum hull. It is too hard to find a hull that isn't over priced in my area, so I have to make due with little stuff here and there on my current boat. It has been revised three times so far...

It's a good thing I don't live in Wisconsin or I'd have more boats and motors than I knew what to do with.

I am with BOND-O on this one I have bought a new project that is coming home this week it is a 14ft. jon, trailer and 5hp. motor. I bought it from the same friend that gave me a 12ft. fiberglass boat that I am working on now. Wife is ok with the 12ft. because I have most parts to do it but knows nothing about the 14ft. coming home:% man I am glad she loves me and puts up with me. Plus I am re-doing the front yard with rock and desert plants and cement other than that not doing much o-yea and putting up two carports and working my regular job. You always have to have stuff thats what I call it. O and I am fixing the roof on the motor home last time I was working out of town I got back in to town had 3hrs. sleep and came home got the motor home ready to take the quads out for the weekend with the wifes and my friends I went fill up gas tanks for everything washed motorhome so everything would be ready for the morning. All I had to do was back motorhome in driveway and go to bed. But I backed up to the rosebush and mail-box:^ so that was a next project. Other than that I do not have much to do.......d:) So I say I do not think it is crazeyd:)

tashadaddy, Why not build yourself a tolman skiff. They will hold everyone and are a great fishing machine. I was thinking about building one when I buy my new house. I wish I could start now but I live in a new townhouse and can't leave anything outside without the condo nazi's getting after me.

They're most fun you can have on the water without a motor, I just love hobbycats.

Next summer if I dont get rid of my Bayliner for a 21+ foot powerboat, I am going to do a center console conversion like I have seen others do.just a simple little 18-20' putter, something that would be fun to cruise around in. Assuming I can find a good hull/engine combo for cheap! But I figure it would be pretty light so dont need something over say..125hp.

And only time we run out of projects is when they lock us in the box and stuff us in the ground!
