Out of things to check on my 85hp force to why it blows breaker when I turn key on

Ive checked and rechecked everything have no idea why this is doing this when I turn key in on positon the red wire feels very hot as well like its grounded but its not any other suggestions would be great I can't seem to find a schematic for the CdI and coil side wiring my book is not real clear to me any force experts have any input ?? BTW this is a 1985 model type II or III wiring not sure they both look close. thanks

Which manual do you have? Check out page 592 in the Clymer manual, it covers your CDI/Coil/Stator wiring arrangement. (1984-1986 85hp models).
How did that wiring harness stuff go based on those schematics?

they were very helpful looks like thats all wired up correct Thanks alot I have a selco mmanual need to go get the other one looks like wouldn't you klnow it
Im on the fence on this motor I also have a 2 stroke leak comming from were the lower unit bolts to the leg I had manually jumped the silinoied to check comp.

Disconnect all the wires from the ignition switch except for the red wire. Turn the switch on and check the wire. If it is not hot, add one wire at a time to the switch until you experience the same original condition. At that point, you know which circuit is affected. This does not say it is in the circuit as it may also be in the ignition switch.

Let us know what happens.

Thats a PERFECT IDEA GOOD CALL I would never of thought of that. Its always simple process of elimination. That will for sure show me what connection it is doing it you made my day thanks

That did it its the auto choke poping it motor turns over with key still only have spark from one clyinder but getting closer thanks
