Re: Outboard bogs down when in gear...help!

I took the boat to my local marine mechanic and the problem is fixed. He found that it was only running on one cylinder. The bottom two coil 12v supply wires had been crossed, so they were sparking out of synch, causing the two lower crank areas to flood with fuel. Also the carbs were balanced.

Also I had bypassed the oil mixing pump and the mechanic found that the oil level sensor in the empty bottle had to be raised up higher in a fixed position as it was operating in an (emergency) limp mode.I must also mention that he had worked on it for a good few hours, to and from the slipway to test and only charged me 1 hours labour (?55).

My baby is purring like a kitten. Now only if the weather would warm up!
