Hey all. Just wondering if any marinas you dock at have any rules about outboards that are raised out of the water? I don't believe my marina has any restrictions but it's a concern of mine now, especially after i dinged one coming back in from a day out on the water.
Our dock fingers are 28 feet and some sail boats occupy all 28 feet plus one or two beyond. Couple that with an extended outboard and I feel it's a hazard. I got caught by a rogue gust of wind and I could do nothing to avoid the "ding" (it was slight and I don't think the prop bent at all - and I did inform the marina). However, coming in at night could be dangerous.
What are your thoughts? Should this be something I bring to our marina manager?
Jeff
