outboard / inboard year

Hi can anyone give any sites were I can find outboards / inboard by year using the serial number many thanks Garry.

Are you refering to the HIN (Hull Identification Number) molded into the starboard side of the transom? If so, the last 4 numbers in the number are the date. The first two numbers are the month the last two are the year.<br />An example would be:<br />0496 would be April, 1996<br />1103 would be November, 2003

With that being the case, is it common for a 93 boat to have transom# ending in 0894. All stock set up from dealer.
