Outboard Kicker Bracket

Hello All,<br />I just purchased a Merc. 9.9 05 4 stroke and I'm looking for a kicker bracket. Any suggestions on an economical yet good one. I have a 14ft. aluminum Grumman Rogue with a 25hp. I do have some concerns about drilling holes to mount the bracket, in terms of sealing. Any suggestions? Hopefully I wont' have to drill below the water line. I've looked on Cabelas and contacted local dealers and the average price is around 300 bucks. Again, any experiences or suggested plates would be helpful.

Seal with a good marine grade silicone. As for brands, I have a Garelick, and it's very well made, but there are others out there as well. If I were buying a new one, I'd try to actually look at and operate a couple, with a motor on it, to see if it worked well. I also would oversize it a little, and would also consider reinforcing the transom where I mounted it if there were any concern about trailering.

It was a quality bracket. It was polished stainless, and it had excellant spring pressure. I would buy another one. I see if I can check on my ebay history and find out if the link I gave you was from the same merchant...
