Hi,
I have a bit of a restoration project going on with an 18ft fishing boat I have. I last used it in the water over 6 years ago and am now looking to get it up and running again.
The main area of concern is the engine (a Selva 60HP 2 stroke St Tropez dated 1998). It only had about 100 hrs use when I bought it with the boat and I racked up a further 50 hrs (I never had any issues with the engine) A company move meant I had to mothball the boat with the engine attached and it has been stored inland on a farm. I am now in a position to get the boat back up and running and was wondering what things I should consider prior to starting the engine up. i.e does it need a complete strip down or is it simpler than that.
Any advice would be gratefully recieved. I am aiming to keep a photo diary of the work and will happily share it out.
Regards
Sakman
