What alarm? The hot horn is used for overtemp, low oil in VRO tank, low oil flow. Check your owner's manual for more info.

just a hunch but, could be the oil pump isn't delivering enough pressure at the high rpm

Check engine temp with melt stick, thermocoupler, or a lazer temp checker. If the warning horn is sounding, the engine is hot, the sensors are bad, the tan wire is shorted to ground.

G'day. These big V6 motors have a problem with water flow at high RPM. When you have checked out all options, water pump, thermostats etc. then remove tha cylinder heads and check that there are restrictors in the water passages. they look loke lumps af black rubber about 1"long between the cylinder block and the cylinders.

Are you sure that it is not a fuel restriction problem?

Re: Outboard Warning Horn! please help

Well, I have a 93' 150 HP Envinrude & mine IS a VRO system. If I get a steady beep from my horn at high RPM it is a fuel restriction. Mine is doing it now (intermittently) WOT only & high RPM only (55MPH+). I have just replaced my fuel filter, but haven't had a chance to drive her yet to check it.
