i ordered a steering wheel for them, they said it was in stock. 4/28/08, charge processed 4/29/08, notified today that the item is delayed, due to backorder. they are not answering their phones, or answering emails. hopefully the charge back on the credit card will get their attention.

the only reason i order from them, is the item was out of stock at iboats, store.

Stinks when retailers post inaccurate information. Charge back should definitely get their attention.

I had the same problem with them.After several phone calls a girl told me the warehouse manager quit and they were way behind in shipping out orders.
3 weeks later still no delivery.I finally got through to someone that refunded my credit card.
That was last fall,i guess they are still having problems.
I will never give them a dime again..something shady is going on there.

fledgling internet based companys, are a dime a dozen, uasually just a web site, and connections to a mass distruibutor.

when you order, they order from the dist, and take a cut, they might have the peice repackaged, but it is uasually the dist that ships.

sometimes, companys will wait till they have a few items to order to get a better price break. they tell the coustomer "its on back order" that will uasually hold the coustomer till they can get their price break.

not all internet companys work that way. but some do.

larger companys are uasually faster to deal with.

i was totally shocked when i ordered from i boats. man....talk about slick...had a human on the phone in 30 seconds.....they told me everything....shipping dates, duty, taxes, delevery dates and times. when the girl couldnt answer my question, she had the supplier phone me back in 5 minits.......i was floored.......really really good company

Honestly............ I had not considered ordering from Iboats.
Sick really since I visit this forum often and have learned lots. After reading this I think I know where I am ordering my rub rail from. WestMarine hasn't exactly impressed me so far and since no matter where I want to get it from has to order it I might as well give Iboats the business. Going to have a look now.

My new steering helm and cable arrived Thursday, my Smart Tabs on Friday from iboats. Both were 4 days earlier than I was told on the phone. iboats is always my 1st option.

I only ordered my seats from another source (With an actual store location) because shipping was free to have them delivered to the store and here the best shipping quote I could get was $220. I tried though.

Iboats ROCKS!!!!!!!!
Rubrail came cheaper from Iboats shipped to my door than anywhere I had priced previously, it came in 3 separate packages due to locations of the parts and all arrived early. Best of all, being in Canada most other places you end up paying more due to duty etc... being added on. Well here at Iboats what you pay at time of order is all you pay!

If a seller runs your card before an item is packed for shipment cut them loose, they're mickey mouse.

Any charge backs or disputes get the merchant banks attention, with enough complaints, even if the seller is found to be correct , banks will usually terminate a charge account for the seller.
