I'm looking to buy a boat that has a AQ205 v6 the outdrive is a Dual Prop (280)?. The engine only has 300 hours, I feel good about it, but am unfamiliar with Volvo outdrives. What should I look for and I think this is the early model dual prop, were these outdrives good? What kind of test should I have done on it with having to launch the boat?

I'm going to "Assume" here for a minute and guess that you meant to type "without having to launch"

I would check the gear lube with the dipstick and make sure the oil is not milky or ugly black. Then start the engine and listen to the drive and enging flywheel cover for growling noises. There are bearings in the flywheel cover. If they are makeing noises, you can bet there was water in the ujoint bellows and water in those bearings. Requires the engine being removed to replace them.
