I need a new lower unit for my 87 chapparal mercruiser 3.0 does anyone know the ratio or is it alpha or not thanks erik

IF the engine is the same year as the boat, then it is an Alpha One. The ratio of the lower doesn't change, that's taken care of in the upper.. The overall ratio for the 3.0 is 1.98:1....
