Re: outdrive

Good point.
Let me try this:
Is all this prop and slipping, etc. the same thing as
"spinning the prop" as in hitting something underwater?

I guess that would depend on Which dock you were standing on,+ Who you were talking too........

"Spinning the Prop",.... In Your Case, is actually a Lack of the Prop Spinning.........

It could mean that you're talking about Prop Slippage if you're talking to a Go-Fast boater,.....

Or,....If you're talking to your Honey,......
Maybe you mean you'd like to take the boat out for a Spin...................d:)

Explaining What has occurred, is Quite dependant on Where in this World your Standing as well.....

Local Slang changes by the Mile sometimes............

Re: outdrive

At the Lake of Ozarks, when one hits a twig, log, floating debris, etc., the prop "hub" is designed to give way so that shaft is not damaged. The prop does not spin, but that is what it is called.
Could that be similar/same as discussed here?

Sorry--I meant that at the Lake that is what we call it--not that the only place on the planet that props are so designed.

Re: outdrive

Yeah and to clarify, a hub can go bad and slip without hitting anything, which is what we actually hope happened to you. Much cheaper than a coupler . . . :%
