Re: outdrive... glue in gasket and o-rings?
hey guys
so I pulled the drive this weekend and there was no large gasket to be found... that said there appeared to be no rust and the gimbal bearing turned without noise or grittyness. weird huh, on the reinstall I was surprised in that when I looked in the housing I assumed that large gasket would sit inside that aluminum "ring/sleeve" just before the bellows, again, because there was no gasket upon removal this seemed the obvious place it would go, I coated this area with the bellows cement only to discover the large gasket is too big for this spot. I could not tell from the pics posted or the manual exactly where the gasket is supposed to live though it seemed to fit well just "this side"(closer to the installer) of the aluminum ring/sleeve so thats where I glued it in. any feed back would be appreciated.
