Hoping you can identify a problem with my Yamaha c-90hp 1999 outdrive When I go to raise it, no noise at all. Its all the way down so I can not trailer it to my usual repair. Could this be as simple as a fuze ? Thanks, pequa

could be fuse, could be bad connection.

if your battery has wingnuts, start there, use real nuts and clean the connections

Do I feel stupid ! Yes, found the screw to release it. My son helped me lift and prop it up. Tilt motor looks ok. I pulled a little on the two wires. checked a fuze under the cowling. bumped the starter and that worked along with lights and horn. of course when I tried the tilt motor switch on the throttle again, it purred. (wouldn't lift since I had disengaged that screw.) so now I seem to be back in business but concerned as to why in the first place. Is it possible that the battery cables are loose, but tight enough to bump starter but not lift the outdrive ? and yes, the battery has wing nuts.

throw the wingnuts away.

use real nuts and a wrench - wingnuts cant get tight enough

clean all the terminals to shiny metal clean enough that your kids can eat off of.

you have a loose/dirty connection somewhere
