I did a pressure test on my Alpha One Gen 1 a year ago after installing a new input yoke and seal and a water pump. Held pressure for 36 hours until I finally just let it out. Ran it last summer and in the fall changed oil and put the outdrive on a stand in my outbuilding. No evidence of any leaks. No water in oil or oil on floor. This winter after a stretch of very cold weather (like -15 or -20F) I was in the building and there was a big puddle of gear oil on the floor under the drive. Seemed to come from a couple different places. Even from the new input yoke seal. Anyway last night I finally got around to retesting and these two pictures were taken 22 hours apart and I had turned the propeller, input shaft and shift shaft during the test. Not sure what to think. Glad I guess. LOL. Anyone ever seen extreme cold weather cause seals to leak while the oitdrive was just sitting on a stand? I thought maybe in the cold the seals and shafts could contract enough to cause leaks? I'm not going to go digging looking for problems here. Lol. Just curious if anyone has seen something similar.
