Outdrive trim cylinder pin removal

Hello boating world,
I am replacing the upper and lower mercruiser 120-140 outdrive with new SEI. Got the upper installed and then I realized the new outdrive didn't have the cylinder pin/shaft. My question is how to remove the old one from the mercruiser unit. I have tried to twist and hammer but it seems to be seized. Does this have to be pressed out? Maybe heated? Or do I need to get a bigger hammer?

Are you referring to the shaft going thru the outdrive where the trim cylinders attach? If you are it should slide out, I always coat mine with waterproof grease before installing. If your referring to something else then omit my suggestion.

Airshot that is correct. It has probably been in there since 1972 and well seized. I purchased a 1/2 X 8" bolt just to get me by and will order a new one Monday. The threads were not in good shape on one end so best for a new one. I will put the waterproof grease when I install it. Thanks.

Got the new pin in today and will install it soon. While looking at the pins, I noticed a leak in one of the oil lines to the port trim cylinder. I have a new one of those also. Will it purge itself or do I need to bleed it like ..... brakes?

It will bleed itself. You just need to run in up a down.
