I inherited a boat (1969 Glasply), and they said it has a 1969 buick V6 with an OMC outdrive. I've been looking at past forums, and everything says it's either the tilt motor (most likely) or the clutch pack assembly. As seen below, I don't see a clutch pack assembly, so I'm not sure if this is an OMC outdrive (if you couldn't tell, I'm new to boat repair). Can you tell me if this is in fact an OMC outdrive?
If it's not the clutch pack assembly, then I think it is definitely the tilt motor. It looks like the previous owner rigged the relays for the tilt motor. As seen in the two pictures below, there is a spider web of wires going to the tilt motor (for location reference, you can see the shiny silver tilt motor in the back of both pics). In the second picture I count no less then 4 blue wires, 4 green wires, and either 3 or 4 relays (the relays are both grey and black). Luckily, the tilt motor on my boat is very easy to get to as opposed to the description I see on other posts.
I here a click on up and down most times, but not always on up. If I go the route of installing new relays, where will I find the right ones, and what should they look like when mounted?
What else should I try to fix this issue?
