Outdura Cover Material and general boat cover questions

Anyone have experience with this type of boat cover. I just bought one off of iboats here as my bilge pump died this week and i noticed how much my cover was leaking and how much water it was letting soak into my carpet when it rains.

My old cover was custom made i believe as there are flaps that open to attach the mooring lines, holes for the support poles, extra padding around the windshield, bow light, etc. I assume my semi custom cover will have none of these. How will i get the mooring lines from the cleat of my dock to the cleats in the boat without it pulling the cover up. I leave my boat in a wet slip so this is important.

I think it was a real deal at less than $220 delivered but have never heard of the material before and am curious as to how i will attach the ropes, etc. Any insight into the cover and application of it is appreciated. Also should i spray it down with scotch guard when i get it or is it already treated.

Thanks for the input

Robert, I have no experience with the material, but if you look in iboats review at the top of the page there is an article about selecting boat covers. Thats where I got the promo code from. I think that I would contact the manufacturer about the Scotch Guard.

Re: Outdura Cover Material and general boat cover questions

iBoats sent me a fabric swatch of Outdura (made by Carver) last fall and the stuff seemed great; however, they no longer have it available in a cover for my boat: a bass pro style, 19.0', 90" wide. I am looking for a boat cover in maroon in the Outdura or a comparable fabric. I heard Outdura is as good or better than Sunbrella outdoor fabric. Any ideas, anyone?
