I just replaced the rectifier on my 45 hp classic fifty with a Sierra 18-5707.. I have a volt meter on my Furuno GPS model GP-36. It reads 16.9 volts are RPM. I am concerned about burning up the battery and other electronics. Should I replace the rectifier again?

The link is for a 77 50 hp engine. Is it the same for the 88 classic 50 45hp?

Make sure all the wiring connections from the battery to the rectifiers are clean and shiny bright, including the grounds.

I don't think 16.9 volts is excessively high.

Sry.........Sort of yes, the info Chris (and GA gave here) gave there is spot on. You have the same un-reg'd system so it's same in that sense, yes.
