Have a pretty good idea I may have a cooling issue. First off, I put in a new water pump kit. At first I
couldn't get any water from the tell tale. So after seeking help from a professional boat mechanic we got her peeing. So I recently did a decarb and replaced my sparks plugs put fresh gas mixed to 50:1. I put her in a test tank to give her a little run to check our work. Here are my findings

1. Tell tell will only start peeing when under slight throttle probably 25%. But plenty of water is sparying
from the exhaust ports on the back but feels too hot.

2. I remember finding on this forum but can't find it. You should be able keep your hand on the power head for a few seconds before it feels to hot to stand. Mine is scolding to the touch. This is at idle for 5-10
minutes.

Just wanted to get y'alls position that I do in deed have a cooling issue and where the potential problem
might be. Tommorow I plan on getting the heat chalk or a laser theometer to check the power head temp
more accurately.

Get an infrared thermometer (cheap now days, 30$) heads should not get hotter than about 150 deg if cooling working properly.

Your tell tale could be plugged and your thermostats could be shot. Replace the thermostat and see if it runs cooler.

Be sure to check the water intake for obstruction.
