Overheat Siren Problem

My 1984 Force 85HP's overhead buzzer goes off intermittantly at times I am sure the engine is not overheating (upon start up, but intermittant when engine is idling, etc.). I want to check the sensor/switch at the engine but the manual doesn't cover other than reference an orange wire. Where is the switch/sensor? Also, any advice about what else might cause whatever short is causing the siren to go off incorrectly would be much appreciated!

Re: Overheat Siren Problem

The sensor is right next to the top spark plug.

You could have a bad thermostat or a bad impeller.
