Re: overheat?

$1195 is a steaming hot deal! I agree with tommays don't waste your time doing it your-self. [the drive I mean]. The bellows are do-able if you are mech. inclined, have patience & have a manual. Check the gimbal bearing and make sure it's O.K...J

Halibut<br /><br />"I am going to flush the system on both sides of the cooling and in both directions. "<br /><br />Don't forget to flush the elbows as Bondo mentioned.<br /><br />Also, it will be a good measure to replace the pump impeller base, if that is warped or the shaft seals are damaged, water can get into the drive as well.<br /><br />By the way, you didn't mention the drive, I am assuming its an Alpha.<br /><br />Good luck.<br /><br />qystan

Re: overheat?

I gotta admit $1195 has got me thinking. All the gears,u-joints and most of the bearings seem good though. I haven't taken the gimble out yet. I am going to finish taking it apart today and then will see. <br />To me it's kind of like rebuilding an engine. I have done it a few times and for the most part it's worked out well but I have to admit I feel better when I send the engine to a pro to rebuild because he's done hundreds or thousands of them.

Re: overheat?

If you're up for the challange, thats fine. I'm just saying that with all the problems you have, $1195 is relatively cheap & will save you alot of time, money & aggravation. I would take the time to clean up the risers too.....J

Re: overheat?

The 1 listed above will Also fit Your Pre-Alpha.....<br />The Gimbel surface, even though Slightly different, is Still a Direct Bolt On Replacement........
