Overheating 2000 Ficht 200hp

I am stumped. My 200 hp Ficht overheats past 1800 rpm. I have replaced the water pump, and both thermostats. If I keep the RPM low the engine pees, but the water output seems (could just be in my mind though) less than normal. If I bring it up above about 1800 rpm, no water is expelled from the pee hole and the engine very quickly overheats. Any ideas what is happening here?

sounds like a blown gasket, into the cooling system. the leak is not allowing the water to reach the power head. usually a head gasket. check your compression, on all cylinders.

Did this just happen out of the blue, or was work done to the motor or the boat prior to the overheat problem?

Which year 200 do you have, what model #?

Have you cleaned out or inspected the pressure relief valve, also called a blow-off valve?

The blowoff valve would not have anything to do with engine filling with water, check compression as TD suggested. Do not run it much this way as it has a water cooled regulator in the EMM that can be damaged by no cooling. Does it have a lighting or standard gearcase?

If this coincided with the water pump replacement, I would make sure the grommet in the pump outlet has not gotten folded over (I usually put some grease on the inside of the grommet to ease the water tube into it.) Also, the pump base big "O" ring might have come out of the groove in the pump body (I usually glue it in place with a small amount of hardening Permatex to keep it from moving during assembly).

If the overheat occurred just after the pump was serviced, that's where I would head first (also cheap to check). You'd be amazed how many ways a seemingly simple water pump job can get hammered!
