just yesterday while i was out on the water i noticed a was taking in water. come to find out today, it was a busted water line. i replaced it and it fixed the leak. however, while taking it for a test drive the temp cage got extremely high and steam started coming from the manifold.
is there something else i should try to change before turning it over to the mechanic?

note the manifolds are only a year old

thanks

Mercruiser recommends replacing the Seawater pump when the engine begins to overheat. I would also go looking for impeller fragments or other debris even if the current pump impeller did NOT disintegrate.

Ayuh,... The Impeller is Always the 1st place to look in Any overheat situation,...

Then work downstream from there til ya find the Problem,...;)
