Have had it out twice since I last went through the drive unit, have not had any issues since.
Thanks all to the replay's, some great idea's from all. I believe my issue was a bit of a combination between the head and the drive unit, once the head was machined and installed properly, the overheat must have been coming from a loose o-ring or gasket on the water pump or gimbal assy. because once disassembled and put back together the issue went away.
For anyone else with similar issues what helped me diagnose the issue was being able to isolate the problem between the drive and the engine to determine which was being troublesome.
