I still think you were looking at condensation, and slight fuel mix from the carbs'. Touch a carb after running full throttle for awhile, surprizing how cold to the touch it will be.

I guess Ill have to take it easy on her and make sure not to run it that hard again. It doesnt seem to have a tempature gauge, how and where on the motor do you install one?

I'm with Iwombat on this one. My big reservation is not being over-propped and lugging the engine.

I could hit 6700 RPM, (the rev limit) on my 140 looper if I wanted to, so running 5000 for an hour does not concern me at all.

That did not bother me on my old 1976 115 crossflow either, I just used 5800 RPM as the threshhold like Dhadley said to do.

I can comfortably hit around 6,400 on my looper with my "hole shot and skiing" prop in place. I usually halt the RPM at 6,000 though as that is the rocommended WOT for this motor according to the handbook.
