Well here is my situation. Bought this boat last year and have had nothing but problems. 1994 60hp merc 3 cylinder. I had the lower unit rebuilt 1500.00 later. I was going down the lake and throttle was full open and all of sudden it was losing power then couple bad noises engine qiut. Sat for a minute or so it fired back up after that full throttle was like half throttle, but no noises. I was waiting for the trailer to back down and the heat alarm went off. I took it back to the guy that fixed it and he cannot find a problem with it says it is working good. Said maybe I have a tight piston. Compression turned out good. Between 110 115 in all 3. Water is coming out the pea hole no problem. Could the thermostat be stuck? Or any other ideas would be much appreciated.
