Owners Manual or Service Manual

Hey all, I picked up a Johnson 71' 9.5HP outboard and she needs some TLC. I'm new to outboard motors just like I am new to this site. I've learned a lot so far by just doing research on this site.

With that being said... I want to work on this motor (check/clean carb, fuel up, water pump, ect.) and I need a step by step instruction book for outboard beginners. What book do I need, the owners manual OR the service manual?? I see both are offered but I want to choose the one for my needs since they are pricey. What do you all recommend?

I'm excited to start working on this motor. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
