Hello everyone, this is my first post.
I've got a 1999 150 Vmax ox66.
First off, this engine spent some time under water about a year ago, but was successfully recovered and seems to be operating really well, aside from a couple of issues that may or may not have anything to do with the sinking.
Issue 1: the engine is using way more fuel than normal. I've replaced the O2 sensor and the fuel pumps. Strangely, the plugs don't look bad and the engine idles great, runs great and achieves top speed.
Issue 2: the yellow wire (ignition) at the harness stays on even after turning the engine off (engine starts and stops fine) I tested the key switch (704) and it's fine. The power stays on even with the key switch completely disconnected from the harness. I've traced the problem to the main relay, which is not being switched off by the cdi when the key is turned off or even disconnected. Once the key is off I can disconnect the main relay (blue/yellow,red) harness plug and the ignition power will shut off. At this point if I reconnect it, it will not trigger the main relay unless the key is on.
In other words: it seems like the cdi is not shutting off the main relay when the key is switched off.
Sounds like fun right?
