if you try to sandthe paint you will spend all your boating money on sandpaper.chemical strip it.but remember use the right stripper.im sure they make that stripper for fiberglass.

John, I have used the paint stripper for fiberglass. It will still soften the fiberglass, so be careful with it. I also has the problem with dry sandpaper melting the paint and clogging the paper. I eventually found some wet/dry paper with about an 80 grit. I recommend using this paper with an air drive sander to avoid electrocution.
