paint help??

I am wanting to repaint my engine it is a evinrude 140 and I was wandering is there a certain kind of paint to use? does it have to be a heat paint? Im just wanting to paint it black nothing special

You can probably use anything except a lacquer based paint. Your prep work is the most important item to have a really nice finished product. All auto parts stores sell a good selection of car paint - start there. If not then Home Cheapo, Lowes, Ace Hdwe, etc. Good sanding, good cleaning and go to town. On yea, one other important thing to remember - need plenty of beverages !!! ;)

thanks I was wandering so it doesnt have to be a engine (heat) paint like youd use to paint an engine on a car with right just regular spray can paint?

No, don't need high temp paint for an engine cowling. Just a good auto paint will look fine.
