Anyone have any info concerning a paint that will seal the bottom of my leaky aluminum jon boat? My boat has an inner hull so re-seating the rivits is out of the question. I have heard that the stuff is out there but I can't seem to get anyone to provide me with a name. I was thinking about spraying bed liner on the bottom but I really don't want to have the drag. I've heard this paint dries smooth. Thanks.

I've heard of some stuff called 'line-smooth' but I'm from Canada and am not sure if it is available where you are. Try a hardware store to see if its available.

Boating Information

I think you mean Gluv-it, but I've only heard of using it on the inside.

If done correctly, bed liner can be quite smooth. If possible, check with a place that actually does it (as opposed to the DIY method).

I used Gluv-it on a rivited canoe and it worked great. Sealed it up tight and dry. I painted it on with a brush on the outside along all the seams. It is uv sensitive and needs to be painted when dry.
