paint worn through on ridge of hull

I recently purchased a 79 glasstron hp-154 bassboat. I was examining it and noticed two areas of wear on the bottom that looked concerning to me. One looks like the rollers wore the paint off over time. The other looks likes some small pit/hole from a rock or something. Do either of these look serious? Do I need to fix them before taking it on the lake the first time this year, or is it something I should just get fixed within the next 2 or 3 outings? Also, how should I fix these?

welcome to Iboats.

the first looks like keel rash from having the boat beached. the second is gelcoat nicks (from rocks, etc.). if it was my boat, I would repair the gelcoat and buy a keel guard. the repair wont take too long. then you can enjoy the summer and not worry about the gelcoat and concentrate on fishing. do a search on gelcoat repair on the forums. lots of good info in the forums.

hi....welcome to iboats.

this is a standard keel repair....

you are good to go boating at this point.

but with everything in life....the faster you repair it the better off you will be in the long run.

search gellcoat repair or keel repair.

in just a few days we will have a sticky at the top of the forum for this repair
