Folks; Are there any "stickies" for painting a galvanized trailer? It's many years old, with little rust. Is it something simply like Acid-etch primer with two part enamel? Thanks!

wire brush, touch up the rusty areas with cold galvanizing. Rustoleum has a primer that is supposed to stick to galvanizing..... it sort-of does, however still comes off in areas.

Galvanized exposed to the environment for at least six months naturally gets a decent tooth. A good cleaning and galvanized primer as suggested is all you need IMO

If you give it a good wash, and get the rust off, you can use a self-etching primer. I used a Nason (DuPont automotive), sticks great to galvanized and aluminum. You can top coat it with either their acrylic enamel or urethane. Its somewhat pricey, but works great!
