Painting a pontoon

I spoke with a guy today that had a funny looking paint on his pontoon boat. The boat is kept in a slip on a lake and he says he paints it with light blue pool paint. It seems to work pretty well, no flaking and he says it cleans up very easily.

That's quite interesting Twidget. I had never thought of that before. I suppose it might work well in fresh water even though it may have been developed for a chlorinated environment. What I'm wondering though, is why he would paint pontoons as most people make them out of aluminum. I'm making some fiberglass pontoons right now and I'm wondering how I'm going to paint them.
