Painting corroded Power trim unit

Rebuilding my Tilt ram.Taking whole unit off transom bracket.Unit has paint chipping off with mild corrosion.How do I prep and what kind of paint should I use.

Maybe sand/prep to bare metal, zinc chromate primer, several coats of high quality corrosion resistant enamel. I've always sprayed my entire tilt/trim/pump/motor with white lithium grease, sets up a protective coating on there, keeps water off of everything, protective film stays on for a long time, keeps entire unit like new. Clean/polish rams so deposits don't eat up seals as they move in and out. Good Luck!

Thanks Robert.I'll give it a go.Should see the anode plate,it's well past it's use by date.May have something to do with the corrosion.
