I'm getting to the final stages of my 4.3l block swap/rebuild. It seems that OMC assembled the motor minus a few hoses and such and blasted the whole thing with grey paint. Any pro's and con's that I might be overlooking would be great to hear before I go painting the thing. Cheers!

Re: Painting Engine

I used POR-15 engine enamel . . . did it with a brush. No real right or wrong as long as the surfaces are degreased, etc.; the engine should look fine.

Re: Painting Engine

Im in the middle of replacing my engine. Im buying a long block painted in gloss black from a machine/rebuild shop and then using all my old parts/tinware from the old motor. I have elected to paint all the misc. parts individually while they are off the engine. So far everything looks real good.
