Painting FIberglass

Am planning on painting the cockpit of my 24' Grady Offshore.<br /><br />I kinda like the way this one looks.<br /><br />

<br /><br />Any suggestions on what to use?<br /><br />I am considering using the Interlux Perfection 2 part epoxy.<br /><br />Any other suggestions?

If it were Me,..........<br />I'd shoot Everything that Isn't walked on, with 2 part Poly-Urethane,......<br />I'm partial to NAPA MSU brand.....<br /><br />Everything that Sees foot traffic,.....<br />I'd roll on Bedliner............<br /><br />Do you have Spray capabilities available to you Tony,..???....Air,+ a Gun,.??...

No spray here Bondo.........<br /><br />Was going to use the roller + brush method......<br /><br />Was only planning on the cockpit this year.....<br /><br />What is Bedliner?

Just found the bolsters......>$100 for 4'!<br /><br />Kinda pricy........

What is Bedliner?

The stuff they use to paint on a Liner in the back of a Pick Up Truck,.................<br />Usually some sort of high-build plastic/ rubber paint.........<br /><br />I Forgot,................<br />Everywhere south of Rockland Co.,..... Everybody has Vans instead of Pick ups,...... Easier to Lock Up........ <br />

If you look in this shot,... You can see the 1s I made,.......<br />Cut a pc. of plywood to fit,.....<br />Cover it with waterproof packing foam I found in a dumpster,+ some vinyl.......<br />Then screwed them on,+ hid the screws with snaps........<br />

Nope,...... I'm Much Better Looking............ <br /><br />They're My Love's cousins from over Ticondaroga way........<br /><br />I thought the Walleye was pretty small,........<br /><br />Gary thought it was a Record Setter...............

Mine are 1/2" PT Plywood for a backing,......That's easy enough,.... <br /><br />The Foam is the Closed-Cell Shipping Foam that you see,....It comes in Sheets...... <br />I found some BIG pc.s at a jobsite dumpster, it had been used to protect some large heating/ cooling units.....<br />You might try checking the dumpsters of an Office Furniture Store.....They go through Alot of this stuff......<br />I used 3 or 4 layers of the 1/8" stuff.......<br /><br />For the Upholstery covering,......<br />I buy stuff from These Guys,......................... <br />My Lovely's sister is In the Upholstery Business,....... <br />When I showed her what I was paying for Most of the stuff I bought,...... It was Cheaper than She was paying........<br />Needless to say,.... She's spending her coins there Now.......<br /><br />Good Luck Tony,......<br />It's an Easy Project,........
